How to find and select visible cells in Google Sheets

Why you need this tool
Managing data in Google Sheets becomes more challenging with large datasets. This tool allows you to efficiently find and select visible cells only, making it easier to analyze data, clean up spreadsheets, or prepare reports. By focusing solely on visible cells, you can streamline your workflow and avoid unintentional modifications to hidden data.
What are visible cells?
Visible cells are the cells that are currently displayed on your screen. The add-on ignores any cells that is hidden due to:
- Filters
- Hidden rows and columns
- Row and column groups
This ensures that your selection is limited to the data you are actively working with, avoiding disruptions caused by hidden elements in the sheet.
How to use the tool
First, you need to install the Select Special addon for Google Sheets. Visit the instruction page to learn how to do it step by step.
Select the range
Start by selecting the range or ranges of cells where you want to identify visible cells. This could include an entire sheet, specific columns, or particular rows.
Execute the selection
After selecting the desired range, press the Select button at the bottom of the add-on interface. The tool will process your input and highlight only the visible cells within the specified range.
